An individual who has been around the Legislature for over 30 years told me this line-

A LIBERAL IS A GOOD PERSON WHILE IN OPPOSITION AND STILL A GOOD PERSON WHILE IN POWER!

A CONSERVATIVE IS IGNORANT WHILE IN OPPOSITION AND MORE IGNORANT ONCE IN POWER!!!

Need I to say more????

That's hardly fair Charles, in fact its not very nice.

Let's look at some facts. No government in the past twenty years has been a friend of the poor, mostly because big business has been flexing its muscles.

Bernard Lord won't close VLT's on Sunday. Well, at least it was Lord who changed the contract when it expired. At least Lord had a referendum even if it was badly run (it WAS the first referendum in NB's history after all).

It was a liberal who made an illegal activity legal overnight, making millionaires out of criminals. Millionaires who no doubt contributed to the liberal party in gratitude.

It was Lord that changed the Tenants Act, it was no liberal government, in fact they didn't even pay it lip service. Its far from perfect and appears not to be implemented yet, but its still a hell of a lot more than liberals did.

Yes Lord banned you, but so did three liberals.

No, Lord won't do a study on ritalin, but as you've said yourself, Graham hasn't said anything about it, and in fact you said yourself Tim Smith isn't involved in this election because he's been treated like shit by the liberals, who also have said nothing about VLT's.

So let's be fair. Yes, Lord lets Irving walk all over the province, but who thinks Graham will be any different? Even McKenna was no different. Irvings simply have too much power, and New Brunswickers are too apathetic (helped along that road by Irvings papers of course).

Party affiliations have little to do with personality, you can find scummy moves in both, and can find redeeming moves in both.

I completely disagree Charles, however, if you agree with the above statement, as it seems you do, then what does that make you as you admitted to being a former conservative supporter a few years back. Very odd my friend, very odd.

I believe my main point in that line is if the Liberals would have been in power while I was protesting?

They would have invited me in their office and everything would have been settle!!!

Frank McKenna always face the protesters head on!!!

Hindsight is not always 20/20. If McKenna had met with you and said "we're not doing a study Charles so get lost" would that be better? McKenna may have met with some protestors, but not all of them, and they were quick to call the cops on just as many. Parents and children were roughed up by cops back when McKenna was slashing education budgets.

Anyway, if that was your point it was pretty deeply buried in the hogwash.
