TRACADIE-SHEILA, N.B. (CP) - Premier Bernard Lord has announced a campaign promise to attract 2,500 former New Brunswickers back to the province.
Lord says the four-year repatriation plan would build on one his government put in place in 2003.
He says the original goal was 300 people, but so far more than 800 have returned to New Brunswick.
The Conservative premier says the broad strategy includes such things as his announcement Wednesday of new skills training for the trades.
Lord says he would lead a trade mission to Alberta to entice companies to contract work with New Brunswick businesses, rather than people leaving New Brunswick to work in Alberta.
He says some New Brunswick companies are already producing products for Alberta.
Will they ever throw out this phoney lie. This lie encourages,young people,who had to go west,to get a job,as the result of the french first attitude,which has led to the no jobs available,because of this loss of the best and brightest
