WHY DO WE HAVE SO MANY AUTISTIC CHILDREN IN NEW BRUNSWICK????

This is a little buddy of mine that I took care of a few weeks ago. I bought him at the Soup Kitchen and he worked there for a while. I just wanted to give him an eye opener on the real world!

His brother is sadly Autistic.

I do understand only certain issues will be debated in great length in this blog!

But my question is this????

How come we have so many Autistic cases during the last 20 years in New Brunswick? What should be done with these kids? What would do the proper way to educate these poor souls???

Just for the record? No one paid me to write this little blog.



During my 6 months protest in front of the Legislature, I would always walk downtown especially at night.

The Capital is beautiful in the evenings. There’s no hills to walk up and it’s peaceful.

I would always walked by the many restaurants or stores on Queen Street.

I remembered one place in front of Officer’s Square call - Molly’s!!!

I walked in there on a few occasions but didn’t really noticed much until this morning.

I bumped into an old friend and we wanted to have a conversation in private so he suggested Molly’s?

I said- Sure! Why not???

I was in for a huge big surprise.

Once inside, it was pretty dark but the guy kept on walking through the building until he directed me in the back.

Once outside, I noticed a cool water fountain, nice chairs, garden and many huge umbrellas over the table so a person could escape the hot City sun.



I might add there’s good food such as Sandwiches and Soups. They always have specialties of the house. They also have any alcohol drinks you want. I might add that the coffee is fantastic. It's from another country!!!

The main reason that I decided to write about this place is the privacy a couple or anyone can have.



I remember one day, one politician wanted to chat with me but it was very difficult to have a conversation in private because all the restaurants are in the open and of course we could be distracted by other people.

In this case? It’s sort of a paradise centre on Queen Street.

A person doesn’t notice the place from the street!

It’s beautiful!!!!

I would suggest to anyone who wishes to have a meeting or chat in private over a couple of drinks?

Molly’s on Queen Street is the place to be!!!

My God! What a nice set up they have in that area.

Once again???? For the record?

Molly’s never paid me to write this blog about their fine place. They don’t even know that I’m writing this story!!!

I saw it with my own eyes and I was very impressed.

I believe that other citizens should have the right to know there’s a private paradise centre on Queen Street!!

Molly’s is located across from Officer's Square!!!

LORD GOVERNMENT- WE IGNORE THE POOR BECAUSE THEY WILL DIE FASTER! THEY WON'T BE A BURDEN!!!

This will be the final part on the issue of the rights or boarders and roomers in New Brunswick.

I forgot to mention one story.

When Tim Smith and I went to see the Rentalman Peter Kessels.


Peter first told us that I should go see a lawyer!!!

I quickly answered - Excuse me? When you live in a place like where I live? How the hell am I suppose to afford a lawyer?

Yesteerday, I made a stopover over the rentalman office.

The receptionist asked me what I wanted to see the head macho for?

Once I told her that I wanted to chat about roomers rights?

She quickly told me that wasn’t any concerns to this office.

Now? These are Government employees.

I could tell that she has already answered this kind of question in the past.

I did have a a 10 minutes meeting with Peter Kessels

I left the face to face meeting with a mixe message.

He did tell me that we do have rights and if I felt that I wasn’t treated right?

I should called the Police.



But he did say something that I found interesting or frightening.

He told me that they receive around 5 to 6 calls a week concerning boarders or roomers rights!

That’s scary!!! This tell me that there’s a lot of boarders and roomers being mentally or physically abuse around this province and there’s no where to turned to!

I point blank asked the guy - Where can these poor people turned to in case of a major problem like I’m having?

Tenants are denied the washrooms or other issues.

He told me that I should approached an advocate group and maybe lobbied the Government.

He reminded me that I should have numbers on my side.

I reminded the rentalman that once a person is poor? They lose all the energy to fight.

Which reminds me? I haven't heard from Family Services on this issue? I wonder why?

But I did learned that this Department is run by the Justice Department.

I am told that the Government could put in place someone to look into these issues but I’m certain that this will not happen because it’s Brad Green in charge of the Justice Department.

This guy is way off base once it comes to the poor.



I approached Bard Green last year about a case of a poor individual in his riding.

I gave him the phone number but he never called the person.

Let them eat cake is the memo of the Lord Government I guess but I will continue to educate the public on this issue.

The Lord Government will never pay attention to this act because I believe that I know the answer?

If a poor is on welfare and they live in a contaminated House?

They won’t complain because they are very fortunate to have a roof over their head.

Like my place? I guess there’s six people who died while living here so maybe the Government will not grant these people rights because they will die faster therefore saving them a lot of money in the long run.

Yes, New Brunswick is a third world country when it comes of the way the poor New Brunswickers are treated and the scary taught that they will not act!

They will let them die!



These people cannot afford a damage deposit so therefore they are force to stay in one place.

It’s just like a prison or an exacution chamber just waiting to die.

Myself, I always say - I’ll move next month and the month arrive and I say I will the next month!

That’s my darn ADHD in motion!

Always let things go by but it’s my faith that keeps me going and nothing else matters.

It’s not a bad place but to have a former homeless individual treat the tenants like they’re animals is not right!

I am very surprised that I haven’t lost my cool with this guy yet! I guess that my six months protest in front of the Legislature really helped me mentally because I don’t lose my temper as I used to and this is a very good thing!!!!

It’s a darn shame that we do not hear from the rest of the poor people in this province but then again?

They cannot afford the damage deposit never mind a computer.

I would love to see Bernard Lord living in these conditions for 24 hours!!!



Yes, Life is indeed an very sad sake of affair especially when you have a Government who doesn’t give a darn about the poor people in this Province!

BERNARD LORD AFTER POLITIC - A GREAT TEACHER!!!

BOARDERS OR ROOMERS SHOULDN'T BE TREATED LIKE ANIMALS!!!

This will be the last part on my little series on the issue of the rights of boarders or roomers in New Brunswick.



Just a couple of weeks ago, the power went out and the so call care taker refuse
to open the middle door to see if everyone upstairs was ok???

We were left in the dark without any emergency lighting.

That middle door is a death trap once it’s lock.

The fire marshall was on vacation last week so I will find out this week if everything is up to par.

This next few comments are from a person who had some dealing with Maurice the former homeless guy.

The individual don’t have a computer and I received this letter.

Here it is-

Maurice makes up his own house rules.

He demands respect from the tenants but he’s made enemies, you can’t receive respect if you treat people badly.

Telling them off and making them feel less than human.

He hides in a driveway to spy on the roomers.



He lies about the roomers and tries to make them look bad.

This is a rooming House not a high rise apartment.

This crazy guy wants people to say that they’re sorry in writing.

Charles was told on many occasions - I hate to see you leave!!!

The week after it was get out because of the Tim Smith episode.

He told the Landlord that the guys were all bad and someone had to take charge.

So the Landlord gave him the power to do whatever he wants.

My god? He choose the wrong person for the job.

Someone who kicks a dog like Chico out the door?



That must tell you something because Chico always put a smile on everyone faces.

No one is allowed to have any happiness in that building and there’s no where to turn or complain.

The former caretaker Barb was very good to Maurice.

She gave him meals and food. Maurice went as far to complain there wasn’t enough spices in the meals.

Barb gave him all the furniture’s in his room when he came to live there from the shelter.

He had nothing.

She got him a job shoveling the snow in the winter and also got him the caretaker job.

I taught he would do good but Barb was dead wrong!!!

Three roomers wanted me to kick Maurice out of the building but Barb always gave Maurice chances.

What a mistake! If only barb had known what she knows now!

He even went as far of telling Barb that she wasn’t allowed in the building anymore!

This is a place that my family had live for the pass 50 years!

If only I had known what a jerk that was back then?

He wouldn’t be around today!

The guys never liked Maurice when he kicked my daughter from the building and I haven’t spoken to him since.

But when he kicked my dog Chico out?



That was it!

I truly believe in the old saying that that goes around, comes around.

Maurice will definitely gets what’s coming to him around the corner.

I was always taught to be good to people. Someone like Maurice only looks after their self and doesn’t give a damn who he hurts while doing it.



I think if anyone can better themselves is a good thing but not this way and how sad it is for the tenants at 114 Brunwaick Street.

Now before I finally decide to write about his issue on my blog?

Last week, I arrived at my room and this note was on my door.

Mind you, some people told me that I shouldn’t put this in my blog! I am just using me as a example of what could happen to other poor people around this province!

A Notice for CHARLES LEBLANC

Cease & Desist order.
Dated on Monday July 18, 2005.

Mr:Charles LeBlanc

You are hereby given a cease & Desist order applicable to the residence at 114 Brunswick Street.

Failure to comply with said order will result in your eviction from the property. The Cease & desist order refer to the following violations

1- Repeated incidents of violating the no smoking ordinance in designated zones.


This is a lie because I only smoke in my room.

2-Repeated incidents of allowing unauthorized persons into the residence.

The only person I had was Tim Smith and a guy to fix my computer. Do I have to bring the computer on the sidewalk to be fixed??
Ohh? I showed my cousin and her husband from Saint John my room for a few minutes!


3-Repeated incidents of allowing pets into the residence.



This is another lie. Chico was the only pet that was in the house. He has been there since last summer.

4-Repeated incidents of slamming of doors at all hours of the day and night.

Another lie because I don’t stay in the house all day slamming doors. I’m never here. At night, I don’t stay awake all night and slams doors. There was one time that the wind caught the door but it wasn’t my fault.

I even apologizes for that part. < only time >


5- Repeated incidents of disruptive behavior.

Maybe he’s telling me that I need my Ritalin? The only time that I confront this jerk is when he crossed the line.

6- Repeated incidents of refusing to comply with previous cease &desist requests.

This is another lie. I moved in and never signed any papers. When that jerk took control? These rules came from nowhere. Never have I seen a piece of paper.

7- Repeated incidents of violating the residence protocol.

I don’t understand that one but I do remember one evening. I went next door and gave the woman a glass.

I was gone for 20 seconds and the door was lock. I went back out and came back seconds later and the door was lock. You see? I was having a few beers and
Maurice wanted me to blow my temper and I remain cool!

Every instance Maurice calls the cops? There’s no alcohol in my body! The rest of the tenants can’t say a work because they’re drunk! You see? This guy hides in the house and try to make it hard on the tenants.



He lies and turns things around to make other people look bad. No security problems that night!

8- Repeated incidents of engaging in a manner detrimental to peaceful co-habitation.

That’s another lie. All I do < once I’m home > is stay in my room and play with computer or watch television.

Maybe he’s talking about my smoking? Who knows?



9- Repeated incidents of disrespectful behaviour towards the Property Manager < he means superintendent > that is his title.

Really? How can you respect someone that doesn’t give you respect in return?

10- Repeated incidents of verbal abuse towards the Property Manager.

This doesn’t make any sense because I don’t even talk to the guy!!!

11- Uttering threats against the Property Manager.

He’s really on a power trip. I guess a little control can truly change a person. Now if this was a true statement? He would have called the police because he always calls the police for any little details. He should have called them for protection because if it was me? I would have called? This is just a bunch of BS!!!

12- He added that In addiction to the above violations, until further notice, you are also hereby forbidden access to the kitchen, dinnibg room and bathroom facilities located on the main floor. If a subsequent incident should transpire, your eviction shall be duely processed.

I never did anything wrong and there’s no reason for me to have receive a letter like this one. I might add that it wasn’t even sign! It had the Landlord name on it but he never signed the paper. The Landlord was spoken to by Tim Smith and Barb but the Landlord just lets Maurice do what he wants.

My question is this? Does Maurice call the cops and produce them with this piece of paper and in return would the cops believe Maurice? Very interesting question? It's scary also!!!

I said above that this would be the final part of the series on boarders and roomers but I guess not because I just came from the Rentalman office. Stay tune for more in the morning!!!!

THE IRVING'S PAPER ARE CALLING FOR AN EARLY ELECTION!!!

Over the weekend, the Irving's newspapers called for a provincial election. The Irvings truly believe that they can brainwash its readers to support Bernard Lord.

They used the excuse of Point Lapreau and the weak leadership skill of Shawn Graham. They claimed people are ready to replace Shawn. I will tell you one thing! Never once have I heard anyone from the Liberal Party complaining about Shawn Graham.



I had a high Liberal offcial come to me once and asks me if the Liberals could win under Shawn Graham?

My answer to the individual was this - A rock could run against Bernard Lord during the next election and he would win!!!



Yes, the Irvings are moving hard and fast in getting Bernard Lord re-elected as Premier. This would be a big thank you for the LNG deal!!!

There’s something bugging me! < Not the first time >..lol...



Last week, someone send me an email and by mistake? He added all the people on his list with his electronic letter.

Just like a seagull, I quickly gobble all the emails.

I added these new victims to my list!!!! THEY'RE ALL MINE ..MINE..MINE... HA HA HA HA HA...lol! Just kidding!!...lol

This list was different because it had all high class citizens. I mean really high class people like this type? You know? The snobby type!!!



So you can just imagine the reaction on their faces once they began receiving emails from this peasant?..lol…

I was told by some politicians < pictures above > that they wish me to remove them off my list!

My answer is - Sorry!!! Once you’re an elected official???? You're fair game!!!

I refuse to remove them off my list!

Am I wrong or right on this issue? Please let me know???

I might add that I have over 100 elected officials on my list from different part of the Province!

Report of Ritalin Risks Prompts a Federal Study

ROCKVILLE, Md., June 30 - Federal health officials said Thursday that they were looking into a suggestion by a small Texas study that Ritalin and other stimulant drugs given to children might increase their risk of cancer later in life.

A team of experts from the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health and the Environmental Protection Agency went to Texas on May 23 to examine the methods used by the researchers, who found damage to the chromosomes of 12 children who took Ritalin for three months.

Ritalin, which entered the market in 1955, has been used for decades to treat children for attention or hyperactivity problems.

Dr. David Jacobson-Kram of the Office of New Drugs at the food and drug agency said that the study, by researchers at the University of Texas and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, had flaws in its methodology but that its results could not be dismissed. Drugs that are known to cause cancer cause similar chromosomal changes, Dr. Jacobson-Kram said.

But other scientists cautioned that the study was far too small and its finding far too preliminary to cause alarm. The study did not include a comparison group of children who had not taken Ritalin. And federal officials said there was no reason for children currently taking Ritalin or other stimulants to stop taking them.

Dr. Lawrence Greenhill of Columbia University, an expert on Ritalin and other stimulant drugs used for children, questioned why the government was devoting so many resources to following up on the study's findings. Dr. Greenhill, like many other academic researchers, serves as a consultant for companies that make the drugs.

Several research teams are trying to reproduce the study on a larger scale, using better controls. And federal officials are examining millions of health records to determine if children who took Ritalin decades ago now have higher rates of cancer. The drug agency has also asked the makers of Ritalin-like stimulants to provide it with any information about their drugs' effects on chromosomes.

"I would say that if these data are reproducible, then that would be very concerning," Dr. Jacobson-Kram said.

He added that it would be at least a year before the results of those studies were known.

It is unclear, Dr. Jacobson-Kram said, how Ritalin might damage chromosomes.

"There's no obvious mechanism by which these drugs should be doing this," he said. "And there is nothing about them by which they clue us that they are DNA damaging."

About 29 million prescriptions were written last year in the United States for Ritalin and similar drugs to treat attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity, 23 million of them for children. The drugs are among the most widely prescribed medicines in the world.

Controversy has long surrounded their use, however, with critics saying that the medications are greatly overprescribed.

Dr. Jacobson-Kram made his presentation before an F.D.A. advisory committee called to examine the most recent reports of adverse events among children taking Concerta, a long-acting form of Ritalin. The committee found nothing new or unusual about the reports, which included cases of children who had become psychotic and others who had developed heart problems.

The drug agency said no committee members had conflicts of interest that would prevent them from evaluating the drug's safety in an independent manner.

F.D.A. officials told the committee that the agency planned to change Concerta's label to make the risks of such side effects clearer. Among the mental side effects reported among children taking Concerta were hallucinations, thoughts of suicide, psychotic behaviors and aggression.



"It's not that this is something new or that this is something that's happening at a higher incidence than before," Dr. Paul Andreason, a psychiatrist who is part of the agency's division of neuropharmacologic drug products, told the committee.



But, Dr. Andreason said, descriptions of these problems in the labels of Concerta, Ritalin and similar stimulants are often written in technical language. So the F.D.A. has decided that descriptions of the drugs' potential side effects must be stated more clearly, he said.



Still, agency officials and several committee members said they were not convinced that Concerta caused mental problems like hallucinations and psychosis. Rather, the children taking the drug may also suffer from other mental disorders.



"The agency believes that it is not yet possible to determine whether these events, especially the more serious ones, are causally associated with these treatments," said Dr. Dianne Murphy, director of the Office of Pediatric Therapeutics at the drug agency.



The most common side effects of Ritalin, Concerta and similar drugs are appetite suppression, headaches, abdominal pain and sleep disturbances. Children who take these drugs chronically often weigh less and are shorter in stature as a result.

Abstract

In recent years there has been a surge in methylphenidate (Ritalin) use for treatment of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. However, there is a paucity of information on whether this drug poses any potential health risks, such as mutagenicity or carcinogenicity, for humans. To address this issue, we investigated whether this central nervous system stimulant produces cytogenetic abnormalities in pediatric patients at therapeutic levels. In a population composed of twelve children treated with therapeutic doses of methylphenidate, we analyzed three cytogenetic endpoints in peripheral blood lymphocytes obtained before and three months after initiation of treatment with this drug. In all participants, treatment induced a significant 3, 4.3 and 2.4-fold increase in chromosome aberrations, sister chromatid exchanges and micronuclei frequencies.

Ritalin Could Cause 'Long-Lasting Changes'

A study by scientists at the University at Buffalo has shown that Ritalin (methylphenidate) may cause long-term changes in the brain. Joan Baizer, professor of physiology and biophysics, and senior author of the study, reports, "When the active dose has worked its way through the system, they consider it all gone. Our research with gene expression in an animal model suggests that it has the potential for causing long-lasting changes in brain cell structure and function."

The changes, according to Baizer, are similar to those seen with cocaine and other psychoactive drugs. "Children have been given Ritalin and it is extremely effective and beneficial," explained Baizer, "but it's not quite as simple as a short-acting drug. We need to look at it more closely. Ritalin does appear to be safe when used properly, but it is still important to ask what it is doing to the brain."

Whether Ritalin, like other psychotropic drugs, causes long-term adverse effects on the brain has been debated for years. While doctors continue to research the effects of Ritalin on children, other medical professionals debate the validity of the diagnosis of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), the disorder most often cited in cases of treatment with Ritalin. Those in the medical community who believe ADHD to be a subjective psychiatric diagnosis -- one not based on science -- argue that there is no case of a child dying from ADHD, but there are cases in which children have died from using the stimulant.

Trust me? I wouldn’t take his job for all the money in the world.

He has to deal with all different kind of mentally on a daily basis. I might add that he has to listen to me on a daily basis. < He must be a Saint! >..lol

I saw him remain calm, cool and collective and I also seen the guy blow a fuse.

Trust me? I would blow many fuses if I had his work!

Just this week the so call beer thief got out of prison!

Remember him? He was the bunk of many Moosehead jokes last summer. It place New Brunswick on the map!!!

He walked into the Soup Kitchen and George offered to give the guy a helping hand.

That’s his unique style!!!

George is always helping the less fortunate out and this is the reason he’s my person of the week!

Once George is gone? I don’t know who has the personally and intelligent to do what he does?

Good work George!!!!!

Anyone out there who had plastic spoons or real ones?

Drop them over at the Kitchen! They sure could use some!!!
