A QUESTION FROM A READER!!!!

Hey Charles:

Was reading with interest the Telegraph Journal on Saturday concerning the cost of gas at the pumps. In the article on the front page, there is mention of a phone call to the Irving station in Titusville and order to increase the cost at the pump (as other stations had done.)
Is this not the definition of "price fixing"? Is this not illegal?
Do you know someone close to you that could answer this question?

And just to add, while I was camping on Sunday night, we had a fire and were talking as people do at fires. The talk turned to the LNG project and two of my friends (who are Irving employees) stated that they were mailed the facts on the LNG long ago regarding the studies for the safety etc. of the plant. They also said that the facts are available on the Irving Oil website (I haven't checked yet). I was kind of interested in it all until they said that the Telegraph Journal had all the facts in it and alluded to the fact that the TJ gave all the facts etc. At this stage, I just shut my mouth and quickly tried to change the subject.

Keep up the good work,

why fight with people that work with Irving?those people are afraid to say something against them. And i also find that the people of Canada are to relax they don,t fight for what is right, and those who fight all way are the trouble maker ,go figure. To those who are fighting for the good of this CITY good luck.

It's not necessarily fear that would keep people from talking, there's a lengthy history of indoctrination, look at how many americans are still gung ho about Iraq even though all the reasons turned out to be lies, americans are being killed and hundreds of thousands of innocent people have died.

There is no doubt that employees were probably given 'information about safety' but whose information? I haven't seen this film but americans must be delighted that those crazy canucks are willing to take all the risks and they'll just buy energy from us. There's no way in hell the Irvings could have safety data available on something like terrorism, because they have no experience with it.
